Three Pit Bulls Attack 2 Children & Two Adults in Norfolk

Two children and two adults were attacked by three dogs in Norfolk. The attack happened around 7:30 p.m. on Monday, March 30th on Johnstons Road, according to reports.

Two neighbors heard the sounds of children screaming, and stepped outside to check and see what was going on. Unsure, but assuming the children were just playing, one man explains that he grabbed a baseball bat just in case. As he and another neighbor approached the scene, they could see three dogs surrounding five children on the ground. The man says that when he tried to get between the children and the dogs, they started attacking him. He was bitten on the side by one dog, and when he fell another bit him on the neck.

According to a second report, the dogs then fled and bit another person.

Finally, the owner of the pit bulls captured the dogs and took them inside. The owner told police that the dogs somehow got our of their pens in the backyard. The dogs were taken by animal control and will be held under a 10-day quarantine period.

Three people were treated at the scene and a 10-year-old boy was taken to CHKD. Thankfully, none of the wounds were considered to be life threatening.
