A dog attack on Monday, January 5, 2026, in Lynchburg, VA has left a child hospitalized with severe injuries
What began as a normal afternoon on Grady Street in Lynchburg turned into a nightmare. Three young girls were playing near a friend’s driveway when a neighbor’s dog broke free from its chain and ran toward them from a block away.
According to reports, the dog attacked one of the children, inflicting severe bite injuries to her arm.
One parent described the horrifying scene: the dog was shaking the little girl around violently. The child was immediately transported to the hospital.
Lynchburg Police are now investigating whether criminal charges will be filed against the dog’s owner.
